# Color of frequency plot

Hi, I would like to ask how to change color of the following plot? Now it seems to be all gray… Thanks!

Hi @hyalin – if you are generating your own builds through our ncov pipeline then these are grey because we only define colours for the particular emerging lineages we are focused on. You can change this by adding entries [here](https://github.com/nextstrain/ncov/blob/0b0e6e868fbd585c0ce45f07387dc93283727633/defaults/color_ordering.tsv#L20525-L20528) if needed.

If you are viewing datasets through [nextstrain.org](http://nextstrain.org) then you cannot change these colours (they are set by the people in charge of generating the dataset). You may be interested in the “clade” colouring instead of “emerging lineage” which looks like this:
